QUANTEL LASER DIODES (QLD) has more than 25 years of experience in developing and marketing opto-electronic components. Capitalizing on previous research work, the industrial activity was created in 1982 in the Thomson-CSF Group and later became Thales Laser Diodes (a subsidiary of the Thales Group). The products manufactured were laser diode fiber modules (800nm, 1300nm & 1500nm); optoelectronic receivers and functions were used on many transmission applications of monomode and multimode optical fibers on the European and American markets.
|
The first developments of "Power Laser Diode" technologies were initialized at the end of the nineties. Ongoing research to improve the performance of laser diode arrays and their assembly currently positions QLD as world leader in this field.
Quantel Laser Diodes proposes a complete line of products:
continuous (CW) arrays of 20W to 50W CW,
fiber products from 15W to 40W CW,
quasi-CW stacks (QCW) made of a compact assembly of arrays with unit power ranging from 60W to 200W QCW
All the qualification tests and mastery of reliability make it possible to address a broad range of markets in the industrial, medical, scientific and defense fields.
Specific programs conducted under severe environments (temperature range from –40°C to +75°C, mechanical impacts and vibrations) or special environments (qualifications under a ‘vacuum’ and under ‘irradiation’) have qualified QLD for major Defense and Space programs.
